SEVEN KINKO TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1850)

The copper tsuba comprising: a round plate carved with a pine tree and inlaid with a fisherman in shakudo and silver, (in the style of Ishiyama Mototada), (circa 1700)--7.9cm. h., 5mm. th.; two oval plates of stone surface, one with a sage and the other with Kanzan and his scroll, (circa 1850), each inscribed Joi--7cm. h., 5mm. th., ea.; a trapezoidal plate with a deep, dot surface, inlaid with a Chinese sage and book, (circa 1850), seal on reverse inscribed, Tou--6.9cm. h., 2.5mm. th.; a mokko, tanto size plate with nanako ground kiri crest inlay, (rubbed), (circa 1850)--5.3cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a round plate with shishi in relief, (depatinated), (circa 1850)--7.2cm. h., 5mm th.; a mokko plate with bamboo in relief, (polished surface), (circa 1800)--7.6cm. h. 5mm. th.
