A SWORDSMITH TSUBA AND A HAMANO SCHOOL TSUBA
MEIJI ERA (CIRCA 1885) AND EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1850), VARIOUSLY SIGNED
The two tsuba comprising: a thick, round iron plate with round rim, carved (by Ichiguchi) with the moon and thin clouds, signed Tsu no kuni Naniwa ju; kore Ichimai, Ichiguchi Doemon saku, and Hasegawa Josuke Motooki Shoji--7.3cm. high, 6.5cm. wide, 6.5mm. thick; and a tanto-sized hamidashi-form copper plate with a stone-finish surface and shakudo rim cover decorated with two rabbits under a moon, signed Naohide (Hamano Naohide [fl. circa 1800])--5cm. high, 3.4cm. wide, 3.5mm. thick (2)
