MEIJI PERIOD (CIRCA 1900), SIGNED TANGETSUSAI
The tsube comprising: an iron, polished convex plate decorated on the face with two herons in red and gold lacquer relief, the concave reverse with a hammered surface, signed in gold lacquer--9/1cm. h., 9cm. w., 5mm. th.; a thick, black lacquer plate with an iron core, decorated with a three aoi leaf crest in gold lacquer relief--8.2cm. h., 7.6cm. w., 5mm. th.; a mokko-form plate of brown lacquer over a wood core in an imitation of the color of iron, decorated in thick gold lacquer with a dragon in clouds (some chips)--9.2cm. h., 8.4cm. w., 6.5mm. th.
