MUROMACHI/EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1500-1850)
The iron tsuba comprising: a fist-shape plate with raised rim, pierced with a Genji mon, Chinese bellflower, and wave, (Katchushi style, circa 1500)--8.8cm. h., 8.2cm. w., 3mm. th.; another of similar design with some shakudo sukashi, (circa 1500)--8cm. h., 7.5cm. w., 2.75mm. th.; a round, undulating plate with double groove (Kamakura bori style, circa 1550)--an oval plate with tortoise- shell surface and a small pierced tortoise form, signed Nobuiye (Kaga Nobuiye), (circa 1750)--7cm. h., 4mm th.; a square, eight-sided plate with folded corners, pierced with an axe design and relief carving of nata, signed Nobuiye, (circa 1750)--8.5cm. h., 4mm. th.; a mokko plate incised with a floral design, signed Nobuiye, (circa 1800)--7.3cm. h., 5mm. th.; a fist-shape plate with a wavy edge carved as water and pierced with two tortoise, signed Nobuiye, (circa 1800)--8.2cm. h., 3.5mm th.; an oval, cup-shape plate carved in high relief with a waterfall, rocks, and clouds, signed Norihisa, (Myochin school, circa 1675)--9.4cm. h., 5mm. th.; a mokko plate punched as an abalone shell with gold nunome ferns, (circa 1750)--8.2cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; another similar plate carved with seaweed, (circa 1800)--8.2cm. h., 3.5mm. th.
