MUROMACHI/EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1500-1750)

The iron tsuba comprising: a plate formed of two ginger buds outlined in wire, (minor losses), (Kyoto, circa 1650)--8.3cm. h., 8.5cm. w., 5mm. th.; another of similar design, (losses), (Kyoto, circa 1700)--8.2cm. h., 8cm. w., 5mm. th.; a mokko plate with pierced loops outlined in rope wire with gourd-form hitsu-ana with leaf and tendril inlay (losses and rust to plate)--8.3cm. h., 5mm. th.; a round plate with checkerboard piercing, the squares outlined in wire, plants and crests between (losses), (circa 1650)--7.7cm. h., 5mm. th.; an oval plate with inset mon and vine designs (many losses), (Kaga, circa 1500)--7.4cm. h., 6.4cm. w., 4mm. th.; a round plate with flush inlay of wire in scroll design (losses), (Kaga, circa 1650)--7cm. h., 4mm. th.; an oval plate with web pierced in spoke design, the rim with flush inlay (many losses), 7cm. h., 6.3cm. w., 5mm. th.; two tanto-sized mokko plates with waste style inlay (losses), (circa 1750)--5.4cm. h., 4mm. th., and 5.2cm. h., 4mm. th.
