Hata Nobuyoshi, also called Iwama Shinro (1807-1878), was a student of Iwama Nobuyuki (1789-1842) and Masayoshi (1764-1837). Compare the kozuka by Nobuyoshi sold in these rooms on March 31, 1992 in the Collection of Walter A. Compton, Part I, lot 216; compare the subject to lot 217 in the same sale.
