EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1860), SIGNED GOTO HOK'KYO ICHIJO AND KAO

The rounded, rectangular shakudo plate with a polished surface and delicately raised, irregular edge, decorated with a lotus in a stream and inlaid with a large, gold blossom and three gold buds, shibuichi leaves with gold and copper accents, the water in silver lines and fine, gold nashiji inlay, the reverse decorated with a gold lotus bud, a shakudo leaf, silver water lines, and a gold nashiji ground, inlaid with a shibuichi water bug--6.7cm. high, 6cm. wide, 2.75mm. thick at center, 4mm. thick at edge
