Weston describing his "portraits with backgrounds" of the time, wrote Nancy Newhall: And there is a good nude in the same manner: figure in window back of screen; figure very classic; pine boards very rough; on the exposed plumbing sit a couple of battered shoes Neil mailed from the desert; chimney on one side, vine covered and fuschia in corner.
