Of baluster form on spreading circular base applied with acanthus and acorns, with tied reed handles issuing from acanthus, the shoulder applied with a tied laurel wreath below an etched inscription and a tied reed rim, one side etched with a bust of a man and an inscription above entwined theatrical masks and musical trophies, marked under base, 15046/1207--15 3/8in. high

The inscription reads: "To David Warfield From David Belasco and Edward G. Gilmore--A Memento of his Engagement At The Academy Of Music, New York City, January 28th to February 23rd, 1907." Below the etched bust of a figure is inscribed, "There are many kind hearts in the world," Herr Von Barwig, Act III, The Music Master.
