A SILVER PRESENTATION VASE
MAKER'S MARK OF MAUSER MFG. CO., NEW YORK, CIRCA 1900

Of baluster form, the spreading shaped circular foot formed as twisting roots of a tree, rising to a bifurcating tree stem terminating in leaves and acorns at the base of the cup, one side chased with an oak and laurel wreath tied with ribbon and enclosing a presentation inscription, the other side also with an inscription, marked under base of cup--12 1/8in. high

Provenance
This cup was commissioned by the children of Dr. & Mrs. Paul Sachs former Director of the Fogg Art Museum and leading figure in the development of modern museum methodology. The cup is being sold by a descendant.

Lot Essay

The inscription reads: "Presented by Your Children in Loving Thought on Your Silver Wedding Day, Paul, Arthur, Walter, Ella". On the other side is inscribed May the Hearts Current Ever Send This Cup Its Glow.
