A SILVER SAUCE TUREEN AND COVER ON STAND
MAKER'S MARK OF WILLIAMS ADAMS, NEW YORK, 1820

Of oval form on stepped oval foot with a die-rolled band of stiff leaves below a dentilated knop, the shoulder with a similar band of stiff leaves below a waisted neck and another die-rolled band, with double scroll handles issuing from leaves, the stepped domed cover surmounted by a leaf-clad baluster finial, the stand on four foliate scroll supports, the rim chased with a band of stiff leaves, one side of the body and the center of the stand engraved with C.L.Fox, marked under bases--height of tureen on stand 8¾in.
