A SIX-PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE AND TRAY
MAKER'S MARK OF TIFFANY & CO., NEW YORK, 1854-1870, THE TRAY 1860-1864

Comprising coffee pot, teapot, hot-water kettle, stand and lamp, covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl; each baluster, on molded spreading circular foot, the body elaborately engraved on each side with an oval reeded cartouche enclosed by elaborate foliate scrolls, below an applied beaded band, one side engraved with initial W, the neck with similar foliate engraving supporting foliate swags, the faceted scroll spouts and foliate scroll handles issuing from grotesque bearded masks, the domed covers with similar applied beaded bands below foliate engraving and surmounted by a bud finial, the kettle stand rasied on four paw supports headed by grotesque animal terms, joined by a foliate scroll apron, with central circular burner, the oval tray with geometric border and foliate scroll side handles, the field engraved with elaborate foliate scrolls and flowerheads enclosing the same initial, each marked--height of kettle on stand 15 3/4in.; length over handles of tray 31in.
