Lot Essay

Scenes in Kashmir on the Scinde river including the cascades (illus.), several views of Simla; Srinagar, the Kangra Valley, the 'Moonshee Bagh' with the commissioner's boat, view near the entrance of the Dal Canal and view on the Canal (prize picture) and an avenue of poplars in Kashmir. Other subjects include the Qutb Minar, the Memorial Well at Kanpur, a rare view of the Allahabad Railway Bridge; two portraits by Shepherd titled 'Afredees from the Khyber Pass' and 'Hill Coolies with Khiltas and dandy (Simla)'.
