Lot Essay

The Tomb of the Emperor Akbar (d.1605) was built at Sikandra, a few miles from Agra. In the middle of each of the four garden walls is a Gate House. This one is on the South side and forms the main entrance. The minarets seen here are the first of their type to be seen in North India
