A ROYAL WORCESTER DARK-BLUE-GROUND KYLIX-SHAPED DISH Painted by Thomas Bott, date code for 1867

Decorated in the Limoges enamel style with Mercury bearing Psyche to heaven, the maiden wearing billowing drapery, within a border of gilt anthemion divided by husks and a seeded and chased gilt line rim, (gilding worn on handles), signed T. Bott and dated on the reverse in black script, impressed and purple printed marks

Thomas Bott (1829-1870) was the originator of the technique of Limoges enamel-style painting on porcelain.
