Decorated in the Limoges enamel style with a woman wearing a billowing robe and with a cherub warming their hands over a brazier in a wooded snowy landscape within a pierced ribbon border enriched in burnished, seeded and bronzed gilding (glaze rubbed at rim on reverse), signed T. J. Bott on edge of her robe, iron-red printed script and Royal Warrant mark, gilt script title
9¼in. (23.5cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

Thomas John Bott (1854-1932), son of Thomas Bott, was employed at the Royal Worcester factory from circa 1870 to 1886, working in the style developed by his father. He transferred to Brown-Westhead Moore in 1889 before moving to Coalport to work as Art Director there
