The tapering oviform vases painted with continuous battle scenes from the Napoleonic wars, beneath horizontal bands of gilt laurel and above bands of foliage, the flared necks, spreading stems and covers gilt with laurel and Imperial emblems, on square bases, mounted with cone finials, the shoulders with cartouches of Napoleonic emblems, the bases with leaf paterae at the corners (one cover repaired, flaking to blue enamel), signed Desprez Sèvres
