First French edition. Important description of the first mission of the V.O.C. to China in the years 1655-57. Johannes Nieuhof joined P. de Gooyer and J. de Keiser during this mission, the country, people, flora and fauna. Richly illustrated with double-page views of ports and places, including Batavia from which the expedition started.
