Lot Essay

The sculptor and drawer Johan ('Han') Rädecker was born in 1921 in Groet (North-Holland). He was the son and pupil of John Rädecker and studied during one year at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
According to the vendor, the frieze offered for sale here was commissioned by his parents for their home at the Vondelstraat 26 in Amsterdam just after World War II
