A 33cm. diameter terrestrial library globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated but unlabelled, the oceans showing warm and cold ocean currents and shaded for eight degrees of depth in metres, the Antarctic with complete coastline and shelf ice, and a note reading Amundsen 1911, the continents shaded for eight degrees of height above sea level in metres and showing no national boundaries, some cities, rivers, some mountains with height in metres and the Great Wall of China (some minor abrasions) in a later mounting, with stamped brass meridian circle, the hand-coloured reproduced paper horizon ring showing degrees of altitude and azimuth, compass directions and days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, the ebonised and gilt-painted stand comprising three tall inswept supports united by cross-stretcher rods to bulbous meridian support, raised on a concave triform stepped base with three inswept legs with embossed foliate decoration, terminating in lion's paw feet -- 92.7cm. high

Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 20.825% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €90,000 (NLG 198.334). If the hammer price of a lot exceeds €90,000 then the hammer price of a lot is calculated at 20.825% of the first €90,000 plus 11.9% of any amount in excess of €90,000. Buyer's Premium is calculated on this basis for each lot individually.
