A fine 50cm. diameter terrestrial library globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the oceans showing ocean currents and shaded for eight degrees of depth in metres, the continents with nation states shown in dotted outline and shaded to nine degrees of height above sea-level, showing towns and cities of four sizes, railway lines, rivers, dried rivers, waterfalls, coral reefs, swaps and mountains, some with height in metres (repaired split to approx. half the equator), with a stamped aluminium meridian circle with two sets of graduations in degrees 0-90°, raised in a fine and unusual 1920's Bauhaus-style mahogany library stand, the horizon with a stamped tin plate showing degrees and hours, days of the month, seasons and two sets of the houses of the Zodiac without graduations for Astrolog, Tierkerizeichen and Astronomisches Sternbild, the circular horizon raised on four thick curved quadrant supports to central square-section pillar with brass meridian roller, on a simple square stepped plinth base with four stepped feet -- 115 cm. high
