1921 SCOTT SQUIRREL TWO SPEED SOLO MOTORCYCLE
Registration No. AK 8656
Frame No. 1740
Engine No. 5046
Maroon and black
Production of the famous Scott motorcycle began in 1909 from the Jowett car Company in Bradford. The man behind the design was Alfred Scott, a genius who established a revolutionary concept which was to remain virtually unchanged for almost fifty years. He pioneered various two-stroke features such as the rotary valve, water-cooling and telescopic forks, and all before World War One. At the time that this motorcycle was manufactured, Scott were the only company producing water cooled motorcycles. These open frame two speeders of the early 1920's are among the most sought after models that the firm produced.
This early motorcycle has been housed in a private collection since 1966 and is in very original order. It is finished in the distinctive Scott colours of maroon and black, and last ran 2 years ago. The condition appears to be good and original and it comes complete with old log books dating back to 1934.
