1948 saw the introduction of Vauxhall's first new post-war creations, the Wyvern and Velox models which shared the same body-shell. Whilst the Wyvern employed the old 12hp engine, the Velox received a totally new long stroke 2.3 litre six. At Earls Court in 1951 the Velox saw a new body which owed a lot to the 1949 Chevrolet. The following year it also received a new short stroke engine which produced a top speed approaching 80mph.

This particular Velox is special in its own right, having appeared in several popular TV series such as the "Darling Buds of May", "Heartbeat" and "Smokescreen". It was acquired in 1987 and has only recently undergone a restoration. The presentation of this vehicle is still superb inside and out and represents a fine example of 1950s nostalgia with its 'Juke Box' style dashboard, bench seat, column gearchange, two-tone upholstery and abundance of chromework. This attractive Velox comes with its original sales brochure, handbook and parts catalogue.
