AN OTTOMAN BRASS BRAZIER
TURKEY, CIRCA 16TH CENTURY

Of octagonal form, the centre filled with a beaten copper sheet, the exterior formed of eight rectangular panels decorated with horizontal banding, a cusped panel above and below, linked by narrow panels with similar banding extending below through long legs to a hoof foot and above to a ball finial, two of the side panels with brass link chains and loop handles with scrolling dragon's head terminals
14½in. (37cm.) across; 10¼in. (25.8cm.) high
