A 16-BORE TURKISH MIQUELET-LOCK CARBINE

LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY

With swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with eight grooves and with single-aperture standing back-sight, lock of early form with inlaid and applied engraved brass decoration, Circassian walnut three-quarter stock (fore-stock replaced) inlaid with brass pellets and roundels of geometric design inlaid with green-stained horn, swelling faceted butt with white horn bands (partly replaced) and with patch-box on the under-side, iron button trigger, single brass barrel band, and wooden ramrod (some wear throughout)
