With signed and dated rebrowned barrel cut with foliage in low relief at the muzzle and breech and with bayonet-lug and copper-lined touch-hole, engraved tang, signed engraved lock with brass pan, figured walnut three-quarter stock carved throughout with flowers and foliage in low relief, engraved iron mounts of service pattern, iron sling mounts, and iron ramrod (engraving and carving later)

The decoration on this gun is very similar to that on a number of firearms in the collection of the Banco Iberico in Madrid, and is thought to have been carried out by a Madrid gunmaker earlier this Century
