A 13-BORE SPANISH MIQUELET-LOCK BELT PISTOL

With two-stage barrel turned at the muzzle and partly at the gridle, octagonal breech struck with brass-lined maker's stamp and eight further brass-filled marks, a bird above and 'Ex' on the right flat, engraved tang, patilla lock (top jaw and screw replaced), engraved steel, walnut full stock carved with foliage behind the barrel tang, engraved brass mounts held by pins including side-plate, spurred pommel with silver portrait bust cap, and trigger-guard, silver escutcheon chased with a grotesque mask, iron belt hook, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some light pitting)
