Meiji Period (late 19th century), with gilt mark Satsuma Tanoura Keiden sei Setsuzan and with gilt seal Setsuzan and another seal and with impressed seal
The tripod vessel painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear crackled glaze with broad panels of chrysanthemum stands, the shoulder moulded with openwork designs of opposing dragons painted in gilt among swirling clouds and the lower body moulded with lappets of openwork foliate scroll and gilded paulownia, the handles moulded as long-tongued beasts decorated with openwork scroll and the legs with archaic Chinese masks, the neck painted with gilt chrysanthemum heads below a moulded openwork band of florets; moulded pierced wickerwork cover with openwork band of florets
