The above ring is an interesting example of historicism in jewellery for the design is clearly inspired by a ring made for Queen Isabella of Hungary between 1539-1569 (see Princely Magnificence Catalogue), no.16. Queen Isabella's ring appeared in the Budapest Exhibition of 1884 (see C.Pulsky, E. Radisics, E.
