Lady Sheil, wife of Sir Justin Sheil who served with the East India Companey and who was, from 1836, secretary to the British Legation in Persia. Form 1844 until his retirement in 1854 he was envoy and minister at the Shah's Court. Lady Sheil published in 1856 her book, 'Glimpses of Life and Manners in Persia', which is valuable as a source for mid-nineteenth century Persia
