A FRENCH EBONISED SCARLET TORTOISE SHELL AND BRASS MARQUETRY TABLE CABINET
With Louis XIV elements and panels, probably reconstructed in the 19th century, the top inlaid with stylised foliate symmetrical panel in brass and tortoise shell, fitted with shelves divided by fluting between brass and scarlet tortoise shell veneered sides, enclosed by a projecting panel door, inlaid with seated figure on a swing below a lambrequin framed by exotic birds, in the manner of Jean Berain, within foliate scroll surrounds, the sides with similar tortoise shell panels in premier and contrepartie, the back with inlaid quartered panels on a moulded base
