TWO MEISSEN COMPORTS MODELLED AS THE THREE GRACES, painted outside the factory, each with the three young women lightly clad in flowered robes standing around a tree-trunk applied with bouquets at their feet, smiling as they raise and entwine their hands around a spiralling gadroon and shell-moulded baluster column issuing from the trunk, supporting a shallow circular dish painted on the interior with ripened fruit and wild flowers and pierced around the sides with flowerheads within interlaced quatrefoil cartouches, on grassy mound bases moulded with white and gilt scrolls (restoration to one dish around area of two pierced cartouches, chips to flowers), cancelled blue crossed swords marks, Pressnumern 110 and 65, incised 2685, circa 1880
