An attractive vertical of top Cabernets from the Shafer family vineyard in the Stag's Leap district.
Their 1985 Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 1990 and the 1986 vintage recently given a high mark in Clive Coates "The Vine", was served at the White House in Washington at a State Dinner in May given by President Bush in honour of the visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
