manuscript on buff paper, 301ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 15ll. of small neat black naskh, occasional words in red, punctuation in red, gold and polychrome roundels between verses, gold margin between black rules, sura headings in white thuluth in gold rectangles with back and red floral illumination, gold and red illuminated marginal medallions marking the sijda and juz', marginal notes in red to mark the hizb, illuminated opening and final double folios, the first with gold, black and red floral design, the last with delicate interlacing square floral design below a pale blue floral design on either side of the colophon, signed Hafiz Mustafa Khatib Zada al-Uskudari and dated 1189, brown stamped morocco binding with floral and cloudband motifs, the spines with gold floral and geometric designs, cream paper doublures with green and gold printed pattern, some damage to binding
