comprising the 24th juz' of the Qur'an, manual decoupé and Arabic manuscript on pale buff paper, 358ll. elegant gold nast'liq written diagonally, cruciform flowerheads between verses, the border with simple similar motifs, a bolder rosette every tenth verse, blue paper backing, in cylindrical leather case with panels of decoupé geometric interlace revealing the blue cloth underneath

Lot Essay

A work of great technical difficulty, not only are the words decoupé, but the central area of each letter has been left, held to the body of the paper by a very few minute bridges.
