A METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN DARK-BLUE-GROUND OVAL CENTRE-DISH painted with figures wearing 17th Century-style dress in an idyllic garden landscape, one man doffing his hat to a seated lady, attended by another gallant within a ciselé gilt reserve outlined with leaves, scrolls and chains of husks, the reverse with a bouquet within a gilt palm-frond reserve, mounted with a pierced rim, two scroll handles passing beneath the bowl, a stem applied with scrolls suspending flower-garlands and on a footed base (wear to gilding), later metal liner and mesh insert, circa 1880
