A PAIR OF PARIS DARK-BLUE-GROUND CAMPANA-SHAPED VASES painted with scenes of a baker's shop, one with a cook removing a loaf from an oven with a salamander as a child carries another in her hands, the other vase with two boys and their father tasting pastries at the window of the shop, the reverses gilt with trophies, swags and scrolls and other neo-classical emblems, the everted rims, handles, square bases and paw feet in burnished gilding (each with a restored handle, one with rim chip and small chips to stem, wear to gilding), circa 1840
