A Pont-aux-Choux faience fine quatrefoil soup-tureen, cover and stand
Circa 1780
With foliage scroll handles and female caryatid, scroll and shell feet divided by swags of flowers suspended from the C-scroll moulded rim, the border of the stand similarly moulded on a feuilles-de-choux ground, the domed cover applied with trophies of dead game, an eel, a lobster and root vegetables, about a scroll finial within a narrow foliage and husk border (tureen with crack to body from rim, one caryatid's head lacking, lobster with legs and antennae lacking, slight chip to faun's ear and bird's middle claw, chips to foliage, scroll and rim)
