A Kelsterbach commode-shaped inkstand
Circa 1770, manganese HD mark to base and inkwell
Of rectangular form, the stepped front with three drawers with manganese ring handles and central escutcheons flanked by flowerheads, the sides with a man catching a butterfly flanked by grasses, the top fitted with a circular sander and an inkwell (minute chips to rim of inkwell and two corners of commode, cracks to glaze of inkwell interior)
