Sunbeam Talbot Ltd, part of the Rootes Group introduced this elegant new two seater sports car in 1960 reviving the name Alpine as used on their early 1950s sports cars. The Sunbeam Alpine utilised a number of components, including the engine from the then current Hillman Minx based Sunbeam Rapier saloon. The styling was very much in the American mode with long tail fins, curved windscreen and luxury interior fittings.
This 1967 Alpine is a Series V Model which introduced the more powerful 1725cc engine developing 100bhp and a top speed nearing 120mph. It has the all synchromesh four speed gearbox with overdrive as well as the optional hard top. Prior to the nearside wing damage which is understood to be easily repairable, the car was in sound overall condition.
