Details
1964 DAIMLER V8 250 SALOON
Registration No. JHR 206B
Chassis No. 1A3249BW
Engine No. 7A3512
Right hand drive.
Jaguar's acquisition of the Daimler Motor Company in 1960 resulted in the demise of the SP250 sports car, but provided Jaguar with the excellent 2½-litre V8 engine. This was installed into the Jaguar Mark II bodyshell and introduced in 1961 as the new V8 250 saloon. Aesthetically the cars were the same except for the traditional Daimler fluted radiator and a higher standard of interior. The performance was equal to the Jaguar 2.4-litre version, but was quieter and more refined, and the general roadholding considered superior.
This 1964 model has only two previous owners and is mechanically sound, but the exterior bodywork is very poor whereas the interior leather upholstery is in very good condition. A similar car is being offered which requires a good interior and the combination of both would make the ideal restoration project, and at the same time would provide an abundance of spares.
