The lockplates engraved with scenes of mallard and pheasant in their natural habitats, the underside of the action-body engraved with the head of a labrador, the whole surrounded and invaded by best bold acanthus-scrollwork, bright cyanide-hardened finish overall, rolled-edge triggerguard, well-figured stock with semi-pistolgrip, chopper-lump barrels with game-rib and scroll-engraved breech-ends, the maker's name signed in gold at the breech, with gold-inlaid concentric bands
