Quarter Master Sergeant William Maxwell born at Enniskillen, a carpenter by trade, enlisted as a Volunteer from the Fermanach Militia, 9 October 1807; Corporal 1810; served in all his regiment's actions from Badajoz to Toulouse with the exception of the Passage of the Nive; Sergeant 1812; after 25 years and 9 months service, Quarter Master Sergeant Maxwell was discharged at Dublin, 1833
