A COMPOSITE CLOSE-HELMET from a funerary achievement, comprising a rounded two-piece skull (dented on right) with low comb flanked by two rivets and pierced for a funerary crest-spike (missing), and cut-outs and double rivets on each side for cheekpieces, the cut-outs filled with riveted plates and the cheekpieces replaced by a pivoted bevor, pivoted upper-bevor and pointed visor, the latter with a stepped sight, the former pierced with ventilation holes on each side, the main edges recessed and roped, riveted gorget (cracked and bent) of two plates with turned edges, probably from a pikeman's armour, and with characteristic church patination and grey paint throughout, 16th/17th Centuries
