1969 ASTON MARTIN DB6 SPORTS COUPE
Registration No. NFX 153G
Chassis No. 3581 R
Engine No. 400/4018
Maroon with black leather interior
Engine; six cylinder, twin overhead camshafts, 3,995cc, approx 325bhp at 5,750 rpm; Gearbox; Borg Warner automatic; Brakes; four wheel servo disc; Suspension; front, coil spring independent. Right hand drive.
The DB6 was announced at the London Motor Show in 1965 and represented the ultimate development of the DB4 and 5 series. The wheelbase was extended, the roofline higher and a new flat tail with a spoiler introduced which reduced drag and aerodynamic lift. Consequently the DB6 succeeded in offering more leg and head room in both front and back seats. An enlarged oil cooler opening also appeared below the radiator grill as well as new split bumpers. With all these developments the DB6 became a comfortable four seater and was capable of high touring speeds.
This is very much an original example which has been in the same family ownership for the past 19 years. The recorded mileage is 98,000 from new and the car has been in continuous use up until June of this year. Regretfully, the service history only covers the last three years as the previous history has been lost. As one would expect the wheel arches are slightly tatty and the paint has some crazing in the nose section. There is a small scratch and dent in the off side front wing. The car has its original black upholstery and there is a small tear in the the side of the drivers squab. The engine was running well with good oil pressure when we inspected the vehicle in May and has a current MoT test certificate.
The vehicle is currently on chrome wire wheels and comes with a spare set of five Wolfrace alloy wheels. The tool kit is also complete. This is an eminently usable example which has been well maintained.
