A COMPOSITE QAJAR SET OF JEWELLER'S SCALES comprising an adjustable support with pointed knop and dragon-head loop, carved steel arm and brass scales, similar smaller arm and scales, two sets of tweezers and a variety of weights, in a fitted wooden box, the interior painted with dense floral motifs on a gold ground, the top with gold scrolling vine on a red ground around a central pictorial cartouche surrounded by four smaller cartouches, the gold spandrels with vine, in a border of floral and inscription cartouches, the sides with floral cartouches and spandrels, the box with altered date, probably originally 1323 (1905-6 AD) (areas of slight damage, some pieces from related sets)
