Lot Essay

There is a very similar silver inlaid bronze footed cup in the Museum für Islamische Kunst, Berlin. It has the same composition on the side of the bowl consisting of a band of vertical hastae on a scrolling ground below the rim, while below that are eight rosettes between pearl bands (von Gladiss, A.H. and Kröger, J.: Metall, Stein Stuck, Holz, Elfenbein, Stoffe, Berlin - Museum für Islamische Kunst Loseblattkatalog, 1985, vol.2, no.319)
