A GEORGE JONES MAJOLICA CHEESE-DISH AND DOMED COVER, the turquoise cover moulded in relief with leafy blossoming twigs issuing from a double branch-moulded handle bound with yellow wicker, the lower part and border of the stand moulded with bands of brown wicker, the underside with a mottled tortoise-shell glaze (two cracks to cover, chip to handle, glaze stained and worn on moulded parts), indistinct black pattern number, circa 1870
