A Small Pale Greenish-White Jade Dragon Pendant
Eastern Zhou dynasty, 5th-4th century BC
The flat plaque cut out in the shape of a dragon with arched body and curved, tapering tail, the body carved in shallow relief on both sides with scrolls, and the head with tiny, incised oval eyes, backswept ears and slit mouth outlined with a band of fine striations, with a small suspension hole drilled through the body, the semi-translucent stone with some opaque buff inclusions from alteration due to burial
