The case with brass handle to bell top, breakarch glazed side panels and chamfered angles to the front door, on later bun feet, the silvered and engraved dial with floral swag spandrels, Roman and Arabic chapter ring, signed in the centre Simson/London, steel hands (later minute), with strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar movement now with anchor escapement, strike on bell, with florally engraved backplate and plain movement securing brackets; movement and dial possibly associated to case -- 20½in. (52cm.) high to hilt of handle
